Yep, about time. They are probably still in the process of putting inventory into the new system.

Lenovo has redesigned their outlet website. It seems to have additional searching options in addition to the old options. But they currently only have 3 computers available in the entire store, so I haven't had much of a chance to test out these new features. It does seem much faster than the old one...but again...only 3 items...hard to know if it will still be fast when it is actually up and running.

Stupid questions.... Is this site owned/controlled by Lenovo or is it an outside company? Does Lenovo profit from it? (Never heard about the site until recently)

It's owned and operated by Lenovo. It's always been there, it just wasn't ever promoted. It's been down for about a week now, so I figured they must be doing something substantial. It came back up sometime today.

One interesting change is that, for the moment at least, the Outlet seems to be partially/completely inaccessible from locations outside the U.S...well, at least my location. I still see the "under construction" page where I live but, using a VPN, am able to view the new, improved (empty) site.

It's not just outside of the US. It's inside too. They are having server connection issues probably.

Indeed, figures. Soon after posting, the server/connection issue appears resolved.

This upgrade was almost comical...began a couple of weeks ago, the site went out for a few days, came back intermittently (could access with IE, but not Firefox, for example) then went down again with a "we'll be back May 1" notice, then a "we'll be back May 3rd", then a "we'll be back May 4th", then "we'll be back May 5th"...

New site looks good; hopefully the new, professional design means a concomitant upgrade in service. Odd, though, that they would open shop with the shelves completely bare.

Was going to post a new thread about this new Outlet design, although i have to say as of last night they have not relisted any of the inventory, there are no laptops anywhere on the site available to purchase.

Hopefully they get there act together with the new outlet since ordering from the old site was serious PITA compared to other company outlets. For instance, I ordered a x200 from the old site two plus weeks ago and still have no idea when it will ship. Contacting them via email and phone has been a fruitless effort; All they say it will ship when it ships. They really need to get their act together. They are already having a tough time trying to crack into the US market, experiences like mine won't help.

Looks like there are some good deals on batteries for the newer X series. I would buy a 4cell just for fun (since I have a 6 and 9), but I really don't need it...

Edit: And cheap docking stations for the X20/1 series! Got some optical drives too, so if someone is in the market for that, go for it.

Though no AC adapter is packed with the dock, fyi.

A little disappointing, I ordered my battery on the 7th, and Lenovo outlet shows the shipping date as May 20th. Lets hope it doesn't actually take that long

Would a regular X series AC adapter work for the dock?

Yup. The AC adapters that fit that size plug work just fine (also the higher watt adapters too).

Appears they are still having issues because I placed an outlet order yesterday and got a "Processing Error" with a notification that my parts had been reserved for me and someone would contact me today to finalize the order. Hopefully it all works out!

Well I called lenovo sales this afternoon and they said it had shipped. It should be here tomorrow afternoon. Still I had to call them to find this out, instead of having updated communications about the progress of the order. So overall I'm disappointed with their sales department, from talking to them I can tell they are disorganized, and they really need to have better communication with their customers.
