I just received the new version of the Lenovo Y50-70.
The old version had a bad FHD screen and that has been replaced in this new version, released April 2015.
So the new features are the i7-4720HQ (was 4710 and 4700 before), the IPS display and the GTX960M. As far as I know there are so far no reviews for this new model

I won't give a full review, I'll mainly add some technical bits while relying on other users for questions to answer.

    Full Specifications:
    Intel Core i7-4720HQ Processor (2.60GHz 1600MHz 6MB)
    15.6" FHD IPS LED 1920x1080
    NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M 4GB
    16.0GB PC3-12800 DDR3L SDRAM 1600 MHz
    1TB + 8GB
DVD Recordable [this is a separate unit]

So far I've only run some 3DMark tests through their demo, here are the results: (More info in link)
    Fire Strike: 3917
    Sky Diver: 12105
    Cloud Gate: 14429
All results landed it somewhere between the results for "Gaming laptop" and "High End Gaming PC". There is also a relevant difference (where I could find it, i.e. notebookcheck.net) between these results and those for the older versions.

I would be happy to run other benchmark software and answer questions.

Edit: I'm also doing an AMA which has gotten some more questions.

1: How do you like the IPS panel? Good? Average?

2: Is CPU tubo boost still disabled as in previous Y50 models? (Tested two Y50's myself, both had CPU turbo boost disabled above 65C, which basically means always when CPU power is needed).

    Hi
I'd love to be able to tell you more but I'm not sure how.

As for the first panel I'm really not a great judge as I haven't owned a laptop with an IPS screen before or seen one often. If there were some benchmark or other software to assess it, I'd be happy to consult it for you.

Intel is currently down otherwise I would install a CPU monitor. Any advice on how to assess this element?

    Sorry for the late reply.
I think you can get the 4-5 hours that they promise, even with wifi running. Of course, with lower brightness and no video etc. I haven't tested extensively.

If you press in the top right corner of the left shift key, does it come off?

That seems like a strange defect. I don't experience that.
