I received my new T400s yesterday, and I am liking it so far. However, the Bluetooth card doesn't show up in device manager. I opened the machine and there is indeed one in the system, but I can't get it to work. Not knowing if this is a hardware or software problem, I ran the diagnostics program and got a clean bill of health. Running the BT software package fails because I can’t find the device and it doesn’t show up in Access Connections manager.

I called into the support line and was informed that my machine's warrantee was not in their database and they wouldn't render support. Apparently new machine warrantees take a few days to be processed. This can be expedited, but only M-F which is when the warrantee dept is open.

One would imagine what a majority of support calls would be within the first 24 hours of ownership. Seeing that you cannot purchase a device with anything less than 1 year of support, I don't understand why this is a limitation.

Effectively, they wouldn't talk to me or give me a ticket number to refer back to when I call back even though I gave them all of my personal information (address, home phone, etc).

Is this really a normal issue with new machines?

I also had a really bad support experience during the call, but that's not the reason for this post. Let me know if anybody is interested in the story. I'll be calling customer service on Monday to register a complaint.

hit Fn + F5 to bring up the wireless control.   from there you can turn the BT card on.

I tried Fn-F5, and yes the wireless switch is on. :) I think It's a bunk card.

I'm more looking for info on the warrantee. Still dumbfounded about a lack of support on new gear.
