Hi all,
I just received a new Ogio Politan for my t61p. I ordered the Politan because it was designed for a 17" laptop. I have the nine cell so I thought the Politan was a good choice. I like the backpack. I have the black version. It's very clean and has a decent number of pockets. The t61P fits nicely in the laptop pocket. Quality looks good too. However I was surprised by the zippers. They look like the typical light weight zippers you find on any run of the mill backpack. I've seen other OGIO backpacks and they had very heavy zippers. That's what led me to select this pack.
Ogio offers a 30 year warranty on the pack, I'm assuming the zippers are covered. Does anyone have an Ogio pack with lightweight zippers. Will they hold up?
An edit to my original post. I should have mentioned that I have the 15.4 t61p
Thanks.

I thought about purchasing an Ogio for my notebook. But i wanted something (somewhat unique) and got a Crumple the King Single instead. http://www.ebags.com/crumpler/the_salary_sacrifice/product_detail/index.cfm?modelid=93405

I have the Wenger Synergy now, but I also have an OGIO product. It's a sleeve I purchased about 6 years ago. The zipper and sleeve are still going very strong. The OGIO you have looks very nice, and if there quality transcends the product line you will have many years of service form that bag.

I think you'll get more responces on the zipper topic if you try this on the laptop accessories board.

I agree my t61p with 9 cell battery barely fit into the sleeve. The extra 9 cell battery makes it very difficult to close the bag. However the bag itself is very solid, pretty and comfortable.
But I wouldn't recommend it to anyone with a standard or fat 15.4 notebook. -
It fits in the pouch fine but the bag was intended for 4:3 notebooks, and scratching the corners is a potential problem. I pull the zipper away from the notebook as I open or close that section.

You made me think about buying a new backpack. I like the OGIO....Hmmm.

I ended up moving from the Metro to the Synergy because although the both hold lots of stuff if needed, the Synergy has better dividers for organization.
This stuff is subjective so I would not buy anything unless you look at it first. -
Thanks for the heads up. Every now and again I have to feed my need to buy something tech related. I have the benefit of our university bookstore being a OGIO dealer, so I will definitely look very closely before I leap.
