Eight years between them. Both running W2K. I don't know - I think the old 560Z looks pretty good for its age. :)

Any particular reason why you're running Win2k on your R61i and not XP?

Nice. Just curious... what kinda life did the 560Z have? Was it always in a bag on the go and just took good care of it, or was it sitting on a desk/docking station the extent of it's life?

The old 560Z has had a good life I packed it all over the place - never did have a case for it - just took good care of it, I guess - the only thing that quit working on it was the power to the pcmcia slot. I have an external cd and floppy that I use once in a while. The docking station is very handy too. Everything else still works great - it even has a little better that a half hour on the battery life. I ran W2k on it for use with some of the programs that wouldn't run on xp. I did like win98 the best. I still use it on occasion with a usb wireless for surfing.

The R61i had W2K on it when I took the photo. I have since taken it off and replaced it with XP. W2K took a 1.4gig ghost image, whereas XP only takes .9gigs. A slim Vista takes 2.1gigs.

The old 560Z (rock solid, tough machine) was a great influence on me getting the new IBM! :D
