I'll start by saying that half the reason i want to write this up is to type. Wow. It is true that once you type on a ThinkPad keyboard you don't want to type on anything else. This being my first laptop from Lenovo and my fist ThinkPad im quite impressed. Considering that in a span of less than two years i was able to go through 3 dell XPS laptops, the build quality on this machine is a breath of fresh air.

    Build:

In a word fantastic; everything is solid, and you can indeed pick up the whole computer just by lifting up on the screen. The keyboard can be a wee bit soft if you use alot of pressure when pushing down in certain areas including the top left corner and most of the right side. However, under normal typing, it can't be noticed at all. All of the buttons have a good feel when pushed and travel just the right amount.

    Display

One category where this T400 really shines is in the display department; my unit was shipped with an LG screen. At max brightness, the screen is very very bright, and can actually be a little to hard on the eyes if its late or dark. If you want the screen to be very dim and are in a dark area, then the ThinkLight will actually become pretty useful.

    Sound:

Pretty much standard sound from a notebook, not much to say here.

I think thats pretty much it; since the rest of it doesn't vary that much and everyone knows almost everything to know about the T400 anyway :p.

All in all im very satisfied with it so far. All i need to complete it is a bit of ram and a case.

Anything anyone wants me to post about, just let me know.

I don't think i got any dead pixels (got mine today). I have the LG screen, and yes it is VERY beautiful. Overall i'd say this laptop is EXCELLENT. Has all the features that I want, and IMO its stylish (you guys think im nuts probably)

how do you tell what screen you have? Is it just the form on lenovo's site where you put in computer part/serial numbers? That doesn't give me any info when I check.
