Sorry for the slight offtopic, but is it possible to switch between the two gfxcards when running XP?

No, not while in XP. You have to switch them manually in the BIOS.

    hi,

i just received my t500 today, had to install vista business and update all the drivers.

i also installed the new drivers for the ati hd 3650. but i can not find a way to switch the graphics on the fly? i can see a shortcut that says restart unter the control panel

shortcut is set to "C:\Programme\ATI Technologies\ATI.ACE\Core-Static\MOM.exe" Restart

but whenever i click on the shortcut nothing happens. any help would be great

    regards

I'm guessing this doesn't fix the memory dump BSOD an extremely small amount of us have with switchable graphics?

Not sure about you guys, but the driver on Lenovo.com shipped with my T400 on 8/26, so it may not be new unless you got one of the very first T400's.

So this is how you do it. sigh. I wonder why lenovo didnt preloaded everything.

I wish you can combine the two for more FPS in gaming. ;)
    ie.
    3911 (3659) + 718 (inte) = 4629 3dmark06.

    Determining which version is installed

    1. Right-click anywhere on an open area of the Windows desktop, and select ATI Catalyst(R) Control Center.
    2. If the ATI Catalyst Control Center is opened for the first time, a window will open asking to choose between Basic or Advanced. Select Advanced and click Next. Catalyst Control Center Notification window will open.
    3. Click Yes. Catalyst Control Center Advanced window will open.
    4. In the Graphics Settings pane, select Information Center then select Graphics Software. In the Graphics Software pane, the version is displayed.

is it possible to replace the ati files with the newest mobility catalysts and let it install those instead of the older version of ATI drivers that come in this package?

Is it possible to update only ati driver (to catalyst 8.12) on T400 without doing something wrong to switchable graphics feature?

I tried replacing the files and it screwed up the installation. Both drivers failed and I had to reinstall with the original ati files, so I guess its not possible :(

    what do you mean:
have you just tried installing ati driver, when the ati graphic was turned on?

Mobility Radeon drivers are only provided by the OEM, not ATI. Installing manufactuer drivers from ATI will not work.

Not quite right; usually, you can mod ATI drivers with Mobility Modder to work on a laptop, but with there not being a 3650 driver in this case, it might just get a tad more difficult.

The site does however state that the card is supported so I guess it's possible.

Edit: I'd forgotten that you just have to download the general install package and mod it; you don't have to get specific.

Speaking of which, is it possible to update the ATI GFX with one driver and the Intel one with another?

Do we have to upgrade our ATI drives? What is the benefit in doing so?
