I just got my T400 last thursday. today I was just using it normally, (web surfing) when I hit the backspace key and I got a BSOD. It restarted very slowly, then another smaller blue screen error. Now It won't boot. It takes a while to get to the vista loading screen and then the error comes up before login.

I suspect it could be the hard drive. I went into the BIOS and there was an option to test it the hard drive. Immediately it said something like "failed read test". It got stuck halfway through so I quit. I guess I might let it run tomorrow.

    Here's my specs:
    P8600
    2GB DDR3 (2 more on the way)
    160GB 5400rpm
    Vista Business 64
    etc...

    Any ideas?
    Thanks for the help.

Call support and ask for a new drive.

Back up your important data ASAP before the drive dies completely?

Then call Lenovo and report to them that the drive has failed the read test.

    k thanks I guess I'll do that.

Also I noticed that the keyboard looks "warped" for lack of a better word. The J area is lower than the rest of the keys and the D area is higher. Should I try to get that fixed too? Or are they all like that?

The screw that attaches the keyboard goes beneath J area. Maybe that's why it's low.

weird...I just got XP pro to install and now its running fine. I couldn't get the vista discs to reinstall. anyway, running hard drive tests now, maybe I'll try to reinstall vista tomorrow. I guess it could've been a virus or corrupted file or something of the sort. that is very strange
