    Which one sits flush?

    4, 6, 7, or 9 cell?

It's implied that 4 and 6 cells will be flush since the dimensions on the datasheet are the same for both. 9 cell will stick out.

    A sales rep gave me
13.2" x 9.7" x 1.34–1.46" for the 6 cell dimensions, and told me to add an inch for the 9 cell. However, the tabook lists the 6 cell as
    13.2" x 9.4" x 1.1–1.3", slightly smaller in width and height.

I think the tabook is correct and not the sales rep, anyone know?

we will have to wait and see till people start getting them at the end of the month to really know..

from my guess the 4 and 6 cells wont stick out.. but the 9cell will.. should be true for all units but dont hold me 2 it

The 9-cell is big, it sticks out the back and is curved upwards. Looks like it could double as a carrying handle though.

Check it out in this video.

holy smokes the 9 cell is a big battery, bigger than I thought. I was planning on getting it, but maybe a 6 cell would be better - what's the difference between the two on battery life? and how much would an additional 6 cell cost?

Yeah...what's up with that crooked battery extension? That's definitely going to affect bags.

Add me to the list of people appalled by that battery. If only it just stuck out the back...

Isn't this much larger than the old 9 cell batteries?

I don't see why it would be. 9 cell equals 9 cell regardless, right?

I think perhaps the battery cavity doesn't extend as deep into the system as the older notebooks. So even if the battery was the same size, it would stick out a lot more. Maybe they angled it to compensate for this.

That's not to say that battery cells are all the same size. That could also be the issue.

Maybe I should change my order and get a 6-cell...

HOLY CRAP! ****! I ordered mine with the 9-cell!

Does anyone know how I can order an additional 6-cell battery? I think the 9 may come in handy some time, but I will just use the 6 primarily if I can find one..

Why not call up Lenovo and change your order from a 9cell to a 6cell? Then later down the road pick up a second 6cell if you really need it.

I read somewhere (in this forum even, I think) that the 6-cell will also stick out, but only just, and that the 4-cell will be a smooth fit...
The 14.1" T61 had that also no? I'm not very familiar with it, but my mom has one an she has a 4-cell battery and it fits exactly (so the 6-cell would stick out a bit), so I'm guessing the T400 is the same....?

In lenovo.com says that the batteries are smaller, to fit better. So I guess 6 cell won't stick out. 9 cell surely will stick out.

ARG! I just called Lenovo, and they said that I am not able to change my order because the coupons I used have since expired. If I went from 9-cell to 6-cell, it would end up making my order $250 more. So if I want a 6-cell battery, it will cost me $118 to just buy an additional one :/

does anyone know the battery ratings on how long the 6 cell lasts vs the 9 cell?
