Finally realized that my repeated BSOD/memory dump/subsystem error crashes were related to the SP3 updates. I restored my XP system to pre-SP3 and disabled automatic updates. If anyone knows of a real fix to this problem or has more insight into what conflict is causing this, please let me know. When I spoke with Lenovo, they did not acknowledge this as a "known issue" even though I have seen it written about on the Lenovo.com forum by several folks who have my machine type, similar purchase date and running XP. do you have updated drivers for your devices?

I thought I did. In any case, spoke to a Lenovo support-dude who said Lenovo does not support Windows automatic updates and he suggested I stay away from SP2 and just stay on top of the driver downloads posted on the IBM/Lenovo support site. I restored my system to pre-sp3 and disabled automatic updates and it seems to be working okay now.
