    Hi all,

I am scheduled to receive my T400 sometime next week (fingers crossed).
To all the T400 owners, what driver updates should I download? Anything else I should be worried about updating? What should I tweak so that it runs as smoothly as possible. Also, I want to maximize battery life, so what should I do in Vista to accomplish this? Does XP have better power schemes for battery life?

well if you have the ATI dedicated graphics card with your configuration, you can always switch it to ATI integrated since its a hybrid, increasing your battery life a ton

if you have bluetooth, that can always free up battery life by turning that off
or turning off wifi when your connected on ethernet

just use thinkvantage battery manager, using max battery life setting plus battery stretch. that'll guarantee you 10 hours.

if you want internet, use the settings above and you'll get 8 to 9 hours.

and thats assuming you have 9 cell.

well its dependent on what you do. if youre constantly transferring files or downloading things, if youre using graphic intensive programs, then yeh you'll get alot less.

but i find that just browsing the web and doing work in MS Office, you should get about 9 hours. with wifi disabled you can definitely get around 10 or more.

at one point my battery gauge showed 13 hours.

Today I have received my T400, just wondering where can I find the guide to burn the recovery DVD's so that I can re-install Windows and drivers?
