    New T420 Keyboard - Where to find???

    I'm helping someone with their T420 (Product ID: 41786VU) and it has a few keyboard buttons that stick badly so I'm offering to get them a new keyboard.

    Any idea where I can buy a new keyboard for a T420? I'd kinda like to go ahead and buy a new one so I know what I'll have as opposed to getting a used one and rolling the dice.

    AND... whilst I'm at it... can one replace a non back-lit keyboard with a back-lit keyboard in this situation?
    I figured if it were possible to do this, I may as well throw a few extra bucks at this project.

    Any ideas on where to buy would be greatly appreciated. :thumbsup:

    Have you looked on eBay? The marketplace forum on ThinkPads.com is another option. The keyboard backlight was never available on the T420. You're stuck with the ThinkLight, which is quite good.

    I actually did find a replacement on eBay but I don't think it's a Lenovo part.

    How does the ThinkLight come on? Do you hit the control + space bar to activate?
