    I just got another Thinkpad, the T420.
    Along with the T420, I ordered the Samsung Syncbaster BX2231 in addition to the Displayport->HDMI cable from Monoprice.com.
    Everything worked fine but the monitor does not recognize the input. I have tried connecting to another monitor that I have through HDMI as well, but it says "no input."

    VGA->VGA works.

    When I go into BIOS and try to choose Displayport as my boot display, there is not even such option. There are 1) thinkpad lcd and 2) VGA

    Even in the device manager, there is no "displayport" to be found. I am guessing the appropriate software/driver is not installed?

    PS I did a clean install of Windows 7 and updated the system using ThinkVantage system update(b/c I was replacing the drive with a new SSD)

    Thanks!!

    Sorry to tell you, but unfortunately, it does not.
    The reviews on that particular product claim that it does, but not in my case.
