Nice find. I would have bought this but shipping, recycle fee, and sales tax adds an extra 63$ for me. Still pretty cheap though. :)

I'm with you, sometimes it's not much fun living in the bankrupt state they call Cali...

at this rate, we can have a new R400 for around 200 dollars, which will be great.

Oh wow... this is a great deal, far better than some of the cheapo budget laptops currently in stores. I wonder how much my T500 is worth now, then

My guess would be it's a price mistake and there's a good chance it'll never ship once their software figures out there's been a huge up tick in orders.

Either that or they want to clear their inventory pretty quick for the newer models. The T500 is a generation behind but as MidnightSun said, it does make a better budget buy compared to the budget consumer lines with Intel Celeron's inside.

Wow, now my Craigslist-find-of-the-week T60 doesn't seem quite as awesome, even though I'm still going to post about it. :D

+1, after all, I got my R400 fullly loaded (except for 2gb of RAM and 160HDD) and it had everything R400 was supposed to have (not sure about WWAN antennas if it has them, BIOS has WWAN option that I can enable/disable tho) and I got it for 520$ couple of months ago with 3 year warranty and 9 cell battery.
So I dont think that this T500 could be unreal, its bigger, bulkier, with lesser specs and its really "old" already, new models are behind the corner so why not selling out last stock leftovers...

Holy cr@p! That is cheap! Looks like that W701 went back to normal price. Rats.

I want buy one for my dad, he now uses my old M1330 which has Nvidia 8400M graphics, which have failed twice already. The warranty is going to expire by next month so I think the graphics will fail again at some point.

Anyone think the price is genuine? I hope so, I want to at least have some time to make a decision, I don't want to make a decision right this instant.

Wow that is cheap. Surely it must either be a refurb, or a pricing mistake.

If you click the tech spec's it is listed as a T9600 2.8 Ghz cpu not the p8700
    It also shows 4GB ram
