Just got my T60 wide from buy.com (finally) and am quite pleased. I do have a couple questions after playing with it for a while last night.

1st: How do I burn the Recovery CDs? I didn't see the option in the rescue and recovery menu, but I am assuming I just looked over it somewhere.

2nd: Whats the recommended method for removing the giant corner sticker on the screen lid? It seems to be stuck on pretty well, but I didn't try too hard to get it off yet either.

1, Go to start, Thinkvantage, and click "Create Rescue and Recovery Media", not exactly sure what it says, but on the bottom it says something about Recovery discs -- that is what you want.

2, Mine peeled of easily, just get a corner going...

    have fun!

2 is silly certainly. Its not a messy sticker just pull it off.

As for one: start-> thinkvantage-> create rescue media.

Could you tell me how you like your screen, and also go here:
    http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/s...rtsInformationLandingPage.vm&sitestyle=lenovo

Use the automatic detect, or type in your laptops serial and reply with the FRU of the line like:
13N7019 13N7020 15.4 INCH LCD DISPLAY FRU YES

It should be the first line.

There has been a lot of discussion of the 2 different types of LCDs in these and your opinion and the FRU will give others valuable information if you have the time to look it up.

thanks guys, and the first thing I did was check the screen, it is the LG, quality seems good, it is plenty bright enough for me, there is a tad of light leakage at the bottom, but it isn't bad and does not bother me.

The quality did seem off at first, but when I went into display seeings it was set to 16 bit color. (Anybody know why it would be this way?) So I bumped it up to 32 bit color, and that made a noticeable improvement.

Anavel: I used a hairdryer to heat up the adhesives on the small stickers on the left palmrest and most of the adhesive came off with the sticker as I peeled it off. The rest came off when i pushed the sticker against the adhesive again and pulled up. I didn't have the big sticker on the front when I recieved mine (yesterday), but it should work the same way.

Also, my screen (LG 15.4") settings were at 32-bit when it arrived, not sure why yours would have been in 16-bit. Did it seem opened?
