I just purchased a T61 7665-AD2 and just bought 4GB of OCZ DDR2 PC5400 memory and it only sees 1024mb?! I downgraded to XP and updated the BIOS.

Any other ideas would be appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

Sorry if this is a repost.

Put in one memory module and then run memtest on it, make sure there are no errors, pull it out. Put in the other module do the same. Then if there are no errors then put in both modules and make sure they are properly seated.

Both. Plus, I tried to put one 2 gb stick by itself and it says 512mb. Weird. Also, this package I purchased is dual channel 4gb sodimm kit. But, I didn't think that would matter or does it?

Sure sounds like you got yourself 2 512mb sticks there. Do you have access to any other machine to try them in?

What are the numbers on the labels on the sticks? Do they say 2GB? Sounds an awful lot like a couple of 512MB sticks got put into a 2x2GB package, either an accident by the manufacturer or someone pulled a fast one on the vendor and the vendor resold returned inventory as "new".

Like what the others said, either they gave you the wrong size ram or the ram is defective. I am running the same 4GB OCZ kit you mention right now in my T61p and I have no problems. So compatibility should not be an issue.
