    Here is the listed change:

    - Support for Intel ICH-8 step B2 (added).

I've tried to search on the net for information about what this means but no luck.

Anyone able to shed some light as to whether or not this is a good reason to upgrade BIOS?

Good idea to always keep your devices with the latest drivers.

I agree for all drivers but I am always weary of BIOS updates for some reason. However, if this new support means some sort of positive impact, I'm game.

ThinkPads are very easy to update the BIOS. Just keep it simple and close other applicaitons click the ThinkPAd update window deal and sit back. That is how I have done it without any problems.

its not always a good idea to update the bios unless necessary. thats why most firmware updates say not to do them unless you are experiencing a specific problem. driver updates are great, bios updates are really for a specific purpose that does not apply to everyone. my advice is to be cautious.

    Agreed.

That is why I am asking if there is anyone on this forum who knows what Intel's ICH-8 Step B2 is. Anyone?
