    Hi Guys

Just bought a new T61p, 15.4inch t9300. The display part of the laptop seems to be very sturdy with no flexing. However the bottom part there is a lot of flexing. The main problem areas are either side of the keyboard and also above the keyboard, particularly on the right hand side of the laptop. Just a light press on the body is enough to make it flex. I have also noticed next to the right hand hinge there are a couple of small holes, I am unsure if there should be screws in those holes? One of the main reason i got the T61p is due to its perceived build quality. I am bit disappointed having spent so much money on it.

I have called Lenovo. They said they would send someone out as I got the extended warranty but they said that if they did not find anything wrong with it , they would charge me £215 per hour! I have other laptops that don't flex anywhere as much. For my own piece of mind I went into a computer store last night. Laptops costing 25% of what i paid for the T61p had hardly any flex in them at all.

What's your experience? Could you guys offer some advice please.

    Thanks for your help.

    Al

Thanks guys. Having had a look at the bottom of the laptop, there is at 1 screw missing. Also it seems that the different parts were not aligned properly. Some screws are 'deeper' than others.

I am not going to do anything myself as I spoke to Lenovo again earlier today, they said they have ordered new plastic bits that go around the keyboard and will be sending out an engineer to replace them once they have arrived.
