How's it different from the current E-series?

Link says what's new. Minor updates to the E series but also some news about new models outside the E series.

Does this mean the new T- and X-series announcements are coming within the next few days as well?

I have seen the E560 on IFA. Unfortunately, its a really boring update - it was confirmed to me that NOTHING was changed, outside of the CPU and plattform (like new WLAN chips etc.). The chassis is 101 % the same as the E550. It also retains the same Tx50 UltraNav, while other new model like P50, Yoga 260, have reverted back to the Tx30 style UltraNav (with the TrackPoint buttons as a part of the keyboard unit), and it even has the old Lenovo logo - not even that was changed. :D

Well...not now. Look for something in a few months from now...and think about it: Is there going to be a big consumer-electronics trade-show in January?

That's disappointing. That's a long time to wait for something like a T550p or T560p. Oh well.
