has anyone downloaded it yet. I hate to do Bio upgrades without knowing if it causes any problems
-
BIOS updates are generally optional. If you're not experiencing any problems right now, then you won't have to update. -
Yep, I'm using it right now on my X61 and haven't experienced any problems so far.
-
newb ? of the day...whats is the safest way to put this new bios on my x61? Never done a bios update on a Lenovo before.
-
-
figured as much...cant figure out how to do this part.
Remove the Power-on password prior to updating the BIOS in RDM (Remote Deployment Manager) environment or similar environment. -
Updated to new BIOS and nothing new to me. All works well
-
If I wasn't having any problems with the current bios or unless the new bios had features I really wanted, I wouldn't risk "upgrading". It's easy to brick your machine unless there's some backup/restore mechanism.
Yes, I've bricked a desktop mobo before -
I got a BSOD recently (1st time)and the USB's dont work half the time coming from sleep mode...figured it cant hurt. but I use this thing daily in school cant afford to have it take a crap on me either.
