A friend just picked up a new E530 with the built in SSD. Brand new machine with the factory setup.

The SSD shows up in the storage options, but isn't initialized. Is the IMB expresscache software automagically using it for swap/OS files?

It wouldn't make sense to have to re-install windows to the SSD on a brand new machine, so how can I tell if the machine is using it? I don't want to make any changes I don't have to.

    Thanks.

^^^ If the notebook comes with a 16GB or 32GB SSD "file cache," you don't have to do anything. The caching function is handled automagically (transparently) for you.

Windows 7 and various programs have been installed on the stock HDD. The HDD is the main drive (used for boot/OS/programs/data), not the small SSD. You cannot use a "file cache" SSD like a regular drive.
