I ordered a new Thinkpad and am expecting it pretty soon. I have heard that I should make Recovery Disks when it arrives. How do I do that? Info or a link would be great!

Also, are there other things I should do upon arrival of the machine in addition to making Recovery Disks?

Control Panel | Lenovo - Factory Recovery Disks

After you create them (1 CD boot disk and 2-3 DVD data disks), I would recommend testing them if you have a spare 2.5" drive. After you've tested them I would store them for safe keeping knowing you can always restore to factory shipped state.

You may want to take a look at this.

You will get a lot more info by asking Google.

Too bad Google sent you to information that is old and invalid. You might want to stick with someone that actually knows. :D

Oh...is that info wrong? Sorry then. But I used exactly that procedure to create the recovery disks.

Perhaps you can correct me and in the process inform the OP? :D

    Edit: How about this?

I already provided the correct information in my post below. Lenovo changed the way they do disks. I like the new method better.

Start menu, Thinkvantage tools, Factory Revovery Disks. It then takes you step by step through the process. It is very simple and easy I'm actually doing this process as we speak.
