    Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo processor P8700 (2.53GHz 1066MHz 2MBL2)

Intel Turbo Memory hard drive cache: Intel Turbo Memory 4GB

Interesting, two new upgrades - I can't seem to find the processor upgrade for T400s, apparently Lenovo currently only added it to the T500. Both upgrades will delay shipment.

    And, I think there's a typo for the P8700 - doesn't it have 3MB L2 cache, not 2?

    2MB L2 on the P8700?

intel lists it as 3MB L2 cache, im guess its a potential typo

[Edit]Based on the price there who would et a p8600 unless they want rush delivery =)

Yep, the P8700 is identical to the P9500 except with half the L2 cache, which is 3mb.

Lenovo's website is notorious for erroroneous specs and info. It's usually small stuff, but it seems pretty careless from a company that builds some of the best notebooks in the industry....and yes, I nitpick! :p

Just noticed, this is my 1000th post! :D :)

I found what I hope is an annoying bug in the Intel documentation:

It lists the P8700 cpu as NOT supporting 64 bit Architecture.
    http://ark.intel.com/cpu.aspx?groupID=37006

I expect it is a typo, and I expect there are several on that page if I compare it to the P8600 and the T9400 cpu specification sheets.

That has to be a typo. I can't imagine any reason that processor wouldn't support 64-bit operating systems.
