    New Thinkpad T61 Replacement Battery

    Does anyone know the part number for the 9 cell replacement battery for a T61 6465CTO??

    The last time I bought a replacement each was listed as a replacement for the T61 but the first two didn't fit and the third, while fitting, simply has gone away faster than ice in July.

    Also most are listed as being by Lenovo but generally a generic battery is shipped.

    I believe I even got a non Lenovo battery from Lenovo on my last reorder.

    You got a choice of either the Sanyo (FRU no: 42T4511) or the Panasonic (FRU no: 92P1133) for the 15.4" 9 Cell option. Sanyo's tend to be known for their poor life cycle over time, I would suggest opting for the Panasonic as I have this make of battery in my 15.4" R61e and it still have plenty of life left despite being 3 years old.

    My Sanyo battery on my 14.1" T61 in comparison is completely shot, I be lucky to stretch 90 minutes on that battery despite being a 6 cell. Also some unfortunate users experience sudden failures with the Sanyo 9 cell battery on their 14.1" T61 machines.
