^^^ The article at your link says: Intel will only be delaying the release specifically of mobile Dual-Core Ivy Bridge processors, but everything is more or less on schedule.

I'm sure they are responding to reactive inquiries only.
So a Quad Core W530 might be ok, but don't count on the T and X series being on time.
Should be a cluster. -

So I guess I have to look into sandy vs ivy benchmark threads...oh and the "duct tape" has been out for a while... -
-
I doubt quad-core models will make it into X series products since they used surface mounted processors but maybe T. -
^^^ Nothing definite. The article at that link says: The most recent Ivy Bridge roadmap leaks however haven't mentioned anything about a 35W quad-core part.
In the meantime, hopes and dreams are free. -
I don't think the X1 has a PGA socket and the CPU is BGA mounted. -

X1 with quad core CPU that is suicide by overheating.

I hope to be the first to review S430 + Thunderbolt GPU

35W Quads are real and being implemented in the new 14" Acer VA40 next month.
Would love to see one of these in the X2 since it has the thermal capacity. -
Thanks for sharing. -
There is also the IdeaPad Y480, wich will come with a Quad-Core too: Lenovo's 14-inch Ideapad Y480 shows up on Amazon
-
^^^ "The rest of the specs are unfortunately unknown but according to previous reports, Y480 packs a rather underwhelming 14-inch 1366x768 screen."
Oh well.
