Pretty in depth. Good to see some flash player performance here...

Definitely waiting for the dual core options.

If it gets hot now with a single core, I'd guess a dual will be even better. I wish they'd offer this with a CULV. I'd probably buy one or at least wait until they come to the outlet.

I'm curious how much the cost difference really is.

I'm wondering if the heat isn't maybe a problem with his fan being too quiet and in fact not working the way it should.

The cost difference for dual core vs single core AMD is $50 for Toshiba's 115D (similar 11.6" AMD ultraportable).

Heat may be the deciding factor for me ... I just don't like it ... I have been told the X200 runs fast and cool and quiet ... then again I wish they would up-grade the model. I like the look of the X100e but 3.3 pounds ? On the heavy side there as well ... wait and see. Price is great though

That battery life isn't looking good for the 6 cell. Under 4 hours and this is with the singlecore chip... Hopefully the Turion will have better power consumption.

Dont waste your money. It uses an old 65nm CPU which is why it runs hot, poor battery life, and only 1.6ghz single core CPU.

Its amazing AMD and Lenovo would even release such an old 65nm CPU in a new laptop.

Wait for the 45nm versions coming very soon.

Is the reviewer retarded or something?

"Sluggish performance on battery mode" - There is no such thing as "battery mode". He simply changed the power setting by sliding the performance bar all the way to the right. So he is basically saying "Sluggish performance on the lowest performance setting", which is what it is supposed to be.

I played with this notebook a few times at the local Fry's. I love the keyboard and trackball (why this amazing and practical tracking ball isn't the standard is beyond me), the size, the matte screen. But it does not have an HDMI output. Why, oh why! Why put a fairly decent GPU in there not give it HDMI?

Anyway, does Lenovo make any 11.6'' notebook with HDMI ouput? Thanks.

I'm pretty sure a core i7 in battery mode is still pretty snappy. If you don't think it's important to know how well your computer will run while still getting the most battery life, then why even read a review.

Or are you saying that he's saying it's comparatively slowest on its lowest performance setting, because he's obviously not saying that (you're right, it would be redundant then). He's saying 'sluggish' as an description in general, not a comparison with its performance in other modes.

@davidt1 11.6 + HDMI = Ideapad u150, or 12.1 + HDMI = Ideapad s12 (Ion netbook). Neither are Thinkpads but build quality on the u150 is pretty reputable.

The u150 does not have the same awesome keyboard and trackball and comes with the weak intel 4500 graphics. The X100e is the machine that should get an HDMI output. I hope they will rectify this in the dual core version.

Yep, hence it is not a Thinkpad =\ (you didn't ask for a Thinkpad, just a Lenovo made one =P). Btw it's called a Trackpoint, there's nothing 'ball' like about it.

And the 4500MHD is just as good as the HD3200 from a media playback stand point (both can do DXVA and Flash 10.1), the HD3200 can play 3d games at low res/settings but that would be pointless to do over a high res HDMI connection.

It is too bad they left out the HDMI, but it was probably for cost savings. HDMI requires a fee to be placed onto a machine and this is suppose to be a business machine anyway.
