    Hi guys,

I've just got my new X220 tablet and overall I'm pretty pleased with it. Will do a review when I get some time.

I've two minor quibbles and I wondered if anyone could help:

    • The IPS screen bleeds from the bottom and the top corners, quite badly I'd say even going by other people's accounts on the X220 bleed thread. If I get a repair guy out can/will they replace the screen ?

    • I can't see an option on Factory default install to get rid of Norton. Do I have to manually install windows myself or can I delete Norton/ Factory reinstall without it?

Norton should've been an optoin at OOBE. If you don't install it, the setup files sit in a folder in SWTOOLS or something.

You PAID EXTRA for a PREMIUM display. If you are not satisfied with it under normal usage, get it exchanged.

There are too many people here who think the screen issues are nothing just because A) they got lucky or B) they browse this forum 24/7 (aka have bright stuff on the screen)

My work also involves having a black background (coding). I also like to watch TV shows / movies with the lights turned off whenever I can.

For someone like me, even slight imperfections will be VERY noticeable due to how I use it (low light, dark backgrounds)

So yea, call em and have them exchange it. Don't settle for a CHEAP-O screen.

Thanks guys. I declined at Oobe but I just wanted to get rid of the setup files.

I'll get in touch with tech who can hopefully replace the screen on site. I think I've got a bit of an extreme example as the bleed probably covers 20% of the screen area.

You keep saying that. Perhaps you can share what 12.5" IPS panel you would consider *not* to be "CHEAP-O"?

Well I finally had the time to ring them today.

Curiously despite having next day onsite service the rep told me the only way I could have it repaired was to claim under thinkplus as if it was my fault and send it to a depot for 6 days or have it treated as DoA and have it replaced.

Nah, he just couldn't get over the fact that Lenovo charged us only $50 for the IPS upgrade.

Does anyone have any contacts or know who I need to contact to get updates from the complaints department?

I was due to get my laptop back about 2 weeks ago but I've just rang them and they said the part that they said they had in hasn't arrived and won't arrive for another 2 weeks.

They've had my laptop for a month and I can't cope for another 2 weeks so I've requested a refund, which their technical department have apparently passed on to complaints.

Does anyone know how to get in touch with these people because I've been left kind of dead in the water as to who to contact to find out what's going on as it's no longer the technical departments responsibility?

EDIT: I bought the laptop in the UK through the digital river powered webstore if that's of any use.
