    Hey

So the XP on my T60 decided to die on me for no apparent reason. I was trying to cut'n'paste som files off my desktop, and now I get a bluescreen every time I boot windows (even in safe mode) except for the times when I can't boot windows at all XD

Anyways, I'm fed up with the crap xp that came with my laptop, so I'm doing a new install - gonna use XP Performance Edition June 2007. Has anyone tried this version on a T60 (or other Lenovos) ?

Also, I was mostly curious about what, if any, software I need or should get, that doesn't ship with XP by default ? I found a lot of threads about what programs I don't need, but not that many about which are useful =P

    Thanks

Have fun trying to get any updates with that version. I wouldn't suggest using a pirated version of windows. Go spend the money and buy windows xp pro. In the long run you will be gald you did.

Actually, I've already spent money on xp pro. I'm not feeling all that glad about it right now =P It's too much hassle. Trying the performance edt, and if it doesn't work I'm gonna go back to linux until it gets messed up again, then I'm doing a normal xp pro install, then when XP dies it's off to linux again ... and on it goes. Give me an OS that works =(

Also, you can get updates if you crack the wga thing, I guess.
