    All,

The new Yoga 730 is starting to see the light of day. Appearing for ordering on the BestBuy.com website last night. They have 3 versions from around $850 to $975 or there bouts. Not in stores locally yet, about a week delivery and no dedicated GPU options available yet though.

Not very complete specs either... no word on screen brightness or battery capacity. But it has been released into the wild.

3-cell battery - I'm not expecting much from it. No dGPU and I'm willing to bet that the memory is soldered.

Hmmm, the 13" model with the i5 8250U has a 4-cell battery - that may result in a decent bit of battery life considering it's also a smaller screen

The yoga 720 15 its replacing had 8gb soldered and one expansion slot... it also had a 74wh battery. No dGPU on the models released thus far... its going to be available with a 1050.

For comparison the yoga 720, 15" 8/256 fhd, 74wh battery, NVidia 1050 is $1099 at Lenovo. BestBuy only sells the 720+dgpu in their 4k variant for $1500. So i'm betting the 730 will be the same way.

Anyone know if the Thunderbolt port on the New Yoga 730 15 inch is full 4 lane?

Yeah, there are only 12 lanes from the PCH in the U series chips, and NONE from the CPU. 4 for GPU, 4 for NVMe, and basically anything else will take from the remaining 4 lanes. Anything like a really fast wifi card, TPM, fast SD card reader, etc will take up those remaining lanes really fast.

Some of the H series chips have most of the WiFi card built into the PCH (Southbridge), not that the H series chips needed much help, since they have 16 lanes from the CPU and 20+ from the southbridge.
