My other battery just lost a ton of life so I bought a new one. I got a 6 cell 'agptek' whatever that means...its some brand from amazon for 50 bucks. Seemed to be fine but in the week i've had it the computers randomly just shut off while plugged in. then when on battery like the screen will go blank and the keyboard makes noises.

Also lenovo message keeps popping up that its not a lenovo battery....obviously this doesnt matter right?

let me know whats happening and what I should do before I send this back and get angry at the battery company

that is usually a problem of faulty cheap generic battery cells. Frequently this is a problem of the battery not connecting to the laptop's battery power connector pin properly.

also another thing....what should i be getting for battery life? I had a 9 cell that used to get around 5 hours....this gets 2:15 about...I didnt think the jump from 6-9 cell would increase battery life that much

you mean your battery life halfs with the new battery?

Each cell capacity of the battery is the same, so if your 9 cells get 5 hours, then a 6 cells should have a battery life around 33% less, which is around 3 hours and 20 minutes or so.

2:15 hours mean that the battery is using very cheap battery cells, this is another example where you shouldn't trust generic batteries.

Lenovo outlet do sell cheap refurbished or restocked battery for a price comparable to a good generic battery, so i don't think you should be wasting time with these shoddy merchandise, given the fact that you are also facing danger of overheating and explosion with these knockoffs.

nothing in Australia, no outlet or anything. I only know that US residents are getting offered these special discount batteries, maybe if got an American friend or family member to help you out with the purchase?

that's what exactly what I was trying to do. Unfortunately, the one (x60 battery) I am looking for right now is not available in the outlet store.
