So I ordered a Z60t about a week ago...for those of you on EPP it's the 549$ super budget model...that I upgraded to a 7-cell battery, the Combo Drive, and 1GB of RAM.

I didn't think I'd be very excited about it since it's not really an amazing laptop spec-wise...but here I am pining away for it to come.

I've gone through approx 7 Thinkpads in my lifetime (I'm 21...haha), and I really haven't had any major issues beside the ones I'm currently facing with my A31p (which is why I needed a new laptop just to get me through until Vista is released and I can afford a 64 bit laptop.) Most of my computer money currently goes into my self-built desktop.

But, the A31p is now nearly 4 years old...so I'm not facing any issues I wouldn't expect to after this amount of time.

I'm sure I'll be back to give my review once I receieve it and have some time to play with it. EST ship date is 7/6...but I see someone who had a 7/4 ship date was sent today, so maybe mine will leave Monday!

i did the same thing, kind of. But I started with the Titanium 2ghz machine and decontented down to minimum everything. Those prices were too cheap to pass up.

    scsgoal31,
Are you sure you wanna get celeron ???. It's too slow and you will get frustrated very soon. Unless you don't run any app and just use for browsing/office etc

Well first, the Celeron-M is not a bad little chip. I currently have a 1.60 P4-M in my current Thinkpad (A31)...I don't expect to see a major difference in speed as the Celeron-M has twice the L2 cache and I have quicker (and more) RAM then before (was 266MHz RAM on 400 MHz FSB, now 533MHz RAM on 400MHz FSB).

Secondly, you're right, this isn't for much more then internet and office apps. I have a custom built desktop for my gaming and Engineering needs
