Looks like it's over before it started. Tabook states 250nit and 300:1 contrast ratio for the T420s. Guess what it was for the T410s: 300nit, 300:1 contrast. The measured T400/410s contrast ratio translated to well below 100:1, so the screen has gotten worse. It's dimmer now.

Looks like it'll probably be a tablet for me.

don't jump to conclusion just yet, the figures means very little. Wait till it is released and official tests/reviews come out, before you decide which machine you should purchase.

I won't, but it feels ominous based on past experience. On the opposite, instead of grossly overstating contrast like in the T-series, the tablet contrast specs are underestimated. Where the published contrast was 500:1 on the Outdoor screen, the measured contrast by notebookcheck was ~750:1. So sure there's hope.

Didnt the t400 have an option for a 400nit screen? So lets get this right 400 then 300 and now 250 maybe. At least the drop this time is only 16.666667% as apposed to 25%...

Im not a betting man, but Id put all my money on yes. 16:10 is dead and never coming back no matter what we non ignorant consumers say.
