So my T420 just came today and I've been experiencing VERY slow internet speeds, when compared with my old laptop. Does anyone know why?

I'm using the Ethernet cord, not wireless.
Should I get a program like Driver Updater to update my drivers? Or should I download them independently from the drivers site on Lenovo?

Use Lenovo Automatic Update software, also please check the state of hard drive to see if it is writing like crazy by some backdoor program or windows backup stuff like that.

Use Lenovo's built in System Update within ThinkVantage.

How are you measuring your speed? speedtest.net?

What was it before? What is it now? Have you walked through the properties on the Ethernet card to see if there are any glaring inconsistencies with the settings?

What are your firewall settings? Are you operating as the primary user, are there any background programs running? (Antivirus, VPN, etc)

And how long is the wire? The length slows it down.
