Since I recently got a X220 I decided to give my mom my old SL400. The battery in it was crappy so I ordered a 9-cell battery off of amazon for her. Put it in and plugged in the AC charger and an error message comes up. The battery icon indicates that the battery isn't charging.

So I look up a solution online, and it says to uninstall this thing under the battery section in device manager. Then when you check for driver updates it should find the new driver and the battery should charge.

Tried that and it still won't charge.

    Any ideas?

Did you buy an OEM one or some 3rd party battery?

It's a 3rd party sanyo one. I've used a 3rd party one in the past and hadn't had trouble before.
