    Hello there!

I'm the owner of a Lenovo Thinkpad L430.

It got delivered with this display:
    14.0" (355mm) HD+ LED (1600x900),
    16:9, 200 nits, Kontrast 400:1, matte

    With this ID: LP140WD2-TLD2

Anyway, I've found that I much prefer a glossy screen over a matte, so I've been looking around and found:
    $54.99 LG PHILIPS LP140WD2-TLD1 LP140WD2-TLD2 Glossy 14
NEW LG PHILIPS LP140WD2-TLD2 14.0" HD+ LAPTOP LED SCREEN GLOSSY | eBay

Would you value that's what I need? Also, the front screen cover, is it usually available to buy later on? I've damaged it a little bit.

    Thank you!

The LG Philips panels LP140WD2(TL)(D1), LP140WD2(TL)(D2) and LP140WD2(TL)(D3) are all compatible. You must specify "glossy" when you select/order your panel. Typically around US$60. Contact the seller and ask for confirmation that what they deliver to you is an "LG Philips" part, and not a substitute.

What do you mean by "the front screen cover"?

Oh, that. I suppose you can order it from IBM, using the FRU number. But you can try elsewhere, as evidenced by the link you posted.

Replacing the screen should be rather easy. Go slow and have patience.

    Good luck.

The name of this part is "screen bezel" :)

    Thank you both :)

I actually contacted a seller of this item:
    New LG PHILIPS LP140WD2-TLD1 14.0

    Where I asked:
"I would like to hear if you can confirm that this product is an original "LG Philips" part.

Also, is it correct that it's a glossy screen, and not a matte screen?"

    And they responded:
"We have different brands and part numbers we cannot make sure which screen will be posted.

We will send you glossy screen compatible with LP140WD2-TLD1"

I must say I'm a bit puzzled about the answer, however do you think it's a problem? Should I try to find another place to buy? (I live in EU).

Also, about the screen bezel, I have found this list about the parts:
    http://download.lenovo.com/parts/ThinkPad/L430_FRU_List.pdf

And I think this may be what I'm looking for: 04W6969 N FRU LCD Bezel 14W
But I'm unable to find where to eventually buy. Do any of you have experience in buying such parts? (Eventually directly from Lenovo, if you contact them?)

    Thanks!

They don't have the exact and genuine part. Of course, you should back off.

    Alright :)

Well as a little service info I can inform that it's possible to find the system service parts for lenovo (in this case L430) through IBM.com, if you search for the FRU through their webshop
