I have a new t400, did a clean install, xpsp3, got the latest lan and wifi drivers from the site, everything should be working, turned on the antenna, but the 400 can´t find any networks.

Where to begin looking? Turn on what?

I installed nothing of the lenovo stuff, and only the essentials for getting the computer to work

    order

    xp

    sp3

    sata driver

    chipset

    blabla framework 3,5 (needed)

    audio

    ultranav driver

    ultranav utility

    graphics

    multicard driver

    smartcard reader

lan (setup bd+proset dx from the drivers folder)

wlan 6mwc20ww (also from the drivers folder)

    power manager xp

    power manager driver

    hotkey 81vu13ww

    keyboard custom

    disc protection

    monitor

    direct x

Whats missing to make it work??? Everything that needed to be iunstalled from the special drivers folder was.

Ok I have extracted and installed these following things:

wlan 6mwc20ww, it extracts to folder: WLANINT

Where I click: setup.exe in the install folder and DPinst.exe and (iProdifx.exe afterwards when nothing is working)

Now it should work. function key+f5 makes a menu pop up and it informs me that the radio transmitter is off, check the knob on the front, on, goes in to advanced settings for the wireless network, everything looks ok.

press fn f5 again, settings, " When I press fn+f5 alternate between turning the radiotransmitter off and on", yes!! Please.

But everytime I press fn+f5 the menu pops up and says transmitter status: off.

So how do I turn it ON?? I didn´t know I needed a masters degree just to turn this thing on.

Do I need any of the lenovo things for this to work, the thinkvantage stuff?? Bluetooth driver??

Everytime I start the computer it says there is a modem on the high def audio bus or pci bus or something, do I need to install it??

This is starting to get annoying. Can someone please help me turn on the transmitter.

go into your control panel, under system and hardware property, do you see the wireless adapter under the network adapter?

If you do, then go to the property page, make sure you turn off any power saving feature. Also switch Roaming aggressiveness minimum, power output max, etc.

Also, try to install the Thinkvantage Access software and see whether that helps with the wifi problem.

I have done all that except trying Access connections, since it needed additional bloatware.
