I came across this model number 7466-43S in the Tabook where it was mentioned that the x200s with SL9600 processor would be available from OCT 09. I visited the Lenovo website and the only configuration options for the processors available are SU9400 and SL9400. Anyone has any idea how much time Lenovo normally takes to update the options available on the website once it is mentioned in the tabook?

The SL9600 comes and goes regularly. I ordered mine in July (in Japan), but it was phased out later on because of supply shortage I think. Availability also depends on the country, here they still have it, but not in the US obviously.

I believe they were available in the spring, but were only offered on the North American sites for a brief time.

jonlumpkin mentioned that it was still available from academic portals:

I tried talking to a few sales people to try to obtain an SL9600, but I wasn't successful here in Canada. In the end, I opted for the SL9400, and have been very happy with it.

I believe it was added to the tabbook in late June, but, that was for European or African countries if my memory serves.

The performance increase is negligible from the SL9400 and hence the cost isn't worth it.

+1.   with a tablet, the main goal is portability and battery life.   fast(er) processors simply aren't necessary.

I'd honestly be a little scared with a faster processor than my x200s has. At 100% load on a flat surface (with a room temp of about 72F) my CPU is hovering from 72-75C. While marginally close to the max safe temp on the chip, if not exceeding.

I'd go with the current offer, if you're looking for more power go with another notebook.

Well, those numbers are most definitely not in Fahrenheit.
