I purchased a T61p within the last month and got the double-layer DVD burner option. Problem is the site isn't really specific about it, and I'm not sure myself.

Does the T61p DVD burner work with DVD-R or DVD+R? And can it use DVD+RWs?

    Thanks

You can use all of those formats you mentioned.

but not dvd+r dl, which is what I thought it would take given that it is 'dual-layer', but no, not a dual layer burner. that cost me $24 :0

Huh, why not? What does 'dual layer' means then?

Today's DVD burners are multi-format (that is, +R and -R, +RW and -RW). They are also dual-layer write capable. The Lenovo T61 series is capable of all of these.

I think what the OP means is whether the dual layer burning capability extends to both +DL and -DL.
