Has anyone had experience with this? How good is it? It seems like a no-brainer for me to get it for only $75 CAD. Is it worth the almost $160 to get the 3-year accidental minus the next day instead? From everything I've read and my short 20 mins using a ThinkPad I kinda feel that they are sturdy anough that even a drop couldn't hurt the laptop much. How effective is the case at protecting the screen is my main question I guess. I am not asking for horror stories and fairy tales, just educated opinions.

Whether to extend the warranty is a value judgment which is always difficult to answer for someone else. Weighing the cost versus the possibility something may happen. I can tell you what I do. I usually get the standard warranty and pay with my AE card which extends the warranty another year which is usually enough for me. I am not an unusually accident prone person nor is my notebook critical to me. If I am without it for a few weeks it won't kill me. Your situation is obviously different than mine. You might want to look at the warranty guide.

My T6P took a hit on the power jack, something that could befall any non-Macbook.

The turnaround was good. Box arrived within 24 hours, picked up that day, 24 hours to Lenovo's service, fixed over weekend and sent out monday, another 24 hours to receive. I did see minor benchmarks on the top of the lid, which I was sad to see, but the machine works.

CA$160 for 3 year protection is an amazing deal imo. If you tend to move it around alot the $160 will buy you peace of mind for 3 years - I think its worth it. I paid the same for mine. It's usually about $300+ for the 3 years protection, more if its onsite.

I think you should get it if it's not that expensive. Alot of times the accidental warranty is over $100 more.

My personal experience: I've never used or needed accidental warranty for any of my 3 laptops over the last 7 years.

Of course now that I've said that...

I will always get a warranty for a thinkpad.
2002- Bought a thikpad $2200. Tinkered with a cisco router above the desk. Fell on the screen. Spidered. $750 for a new LCD. Decided to junk it. $2200 byebye. Thinkpad #2 with 4 year accidental warranty depot service. $169 at the time. 5 new motherboards. Various issues. I used it every day. They replaced the LCD once and all bezels twice because it started looking ratty. (I did not even ask for the service)

    Depot Service.
    Call Monday.
    Get box tuesday (overnight)
Send Laptop Out (Arrives there on wednesday)
I get my laptop Thursday AM.

    I love lenovo/IBM

I got the 4yr0accidental on site because it covers everything and I plan to have my T61p for at least 4yrs. So for me 4yr/accidental just seemed smart.
