Always loved using my thinkpad for gaming so think it's time to upgrade. Are there any new thinkpads out that is significantly faster than the T61p nvidia qradro(sp) 256M?

Currently only the Core CPU and Nvidia Quadro FX3700 equipped W700 fits the bill. You should wait until January when the new Calpella models are released.

I second this. Especially with GPU power, the W500 doesn't bring much more to the table in terms of power. Who knows what the Calpella refresh will bring, but for now I think your T61p will serve you well for a little longer.

Yes. Wait. At the bare minimum you'll get a Radeon 4600 thats 2 generations newer (3 if you go buy Nvidia's roadmap and the GT260). I don't know what the workstation cards will be called. Regardless, I'd be curious to see if they got something from the Radeon 5000 series. Might as well get the DirectX 11 cards out ASAP right?

IMO if you want to game you should just build a custom PC and save some money and get much more gaming power than what a Lenovo notebook will offer.

I'm very happy with my T61p. Not sure if I will upgrade my T61p for anything soon but I would like my next ThinkPad to be no larger than a 14" display with at least a ATI HD5000 series 32nm GPU along with an Intel 32nm CPU. That would make a nice ThinkPad IMO.
