I just got off the phone with a Lenovo rep regarding the ship date of my U330 order and he told me that the plant they are made in will be shut down next week for renovations. I'm not sure if this will affect other notebooks as well, but it definitely does affect the U330. So you guys that got a ship notice this week are extra lucky.

What is this suppose to mean? another delay? or it's just that the laptop wont be shipping next week?

Let me tell you all a story about why this makes me angry.
I ordered my U330 on 8/19 with an original projected ship date of 9/02. A week after my ship date with no confirmation, I went on live chat to ask if there was a problem. They said the projected ship date was now 9/30. I wrote an e-mail complaining, and they said that there was nothing they could do, and that I shouldn't expect to get the system before mid-October. Finally, I called to see if there was any way they could ship it sooner, and they said 9/25. It still hasn't shipped, and evidently won't all next week.
Meanwhile, people who ordered theirs later than I did already have their computers. Let's not forget the fact that I've been in classes for a month now without a portable computer. If I had just gotten a Dell, I could've had it before the end of August.
Wow. I REALLY hate Lenovo. -
I know how you feel acneuens, I ordered 8/19 with an original ship date of 9/2 and people that ordered the week after have received their laptops.
Last time I called (Wed) they said week of 10/6 is what they project but they can't guarantee anything. -
not sure where they are made anymore, but if it is still here in China, it is likely due to the Golden Week national holiday. good luck to you guys, though

October 1 is National Day. Most everyone gets two paid days off.
-
OK never mind, I get all of the week off

I know how this feels.....I am almost 2 months now after my order of T400 on August 5th which I have canceled since it seems that there's no way I am going to get that thing while everyone who order 1 and a half month after me got theirs already....so I ordered this thing (again with hope of it being shipped soon)

call and get compensation...it might make your wait worthwhile

I thought I'd add in my lenovo story.
I ordered my U330 on September 7 with a projected shipment date of October 6 (estimated shipping time was 4-5 weeks). My first problem was I saw that every review stated that there was an indigo blue option, including their own website, however the sales rep insisted that they didn't have such an option.
I waited till October 7 and then to my surprise my shipment date changed to October 20. I called lenovo and the sales rep said he was sorry and assured me that my laptop would be shipped out on the week of the 13th. (I should have gotten his name) [BTW: If I ordered a fresh U330 the site said it would ship in 1-2 weeks now...]
I waited till the 17th and saw that my laptop still wasn't shipped and called them again. They told me again that they were very sorry again and that it would be shipped on the week of the 28th. I was extremely pissed off at this point and told them I have been waiting for way too long and that it was long past my estimated ship date. The rep then told me he could file a compensation request and that he would get back to me.
Monday comes around and he tells me that he can compensate me $50. Obviously I wasn't too satisfied with this, but heck I just wanted my laptop. My laptop did FINALLY ship on the 24thO before their estimated ship date) and now I'm just waiting on UPS. But yeah, if you order one RIGHT NOW, my model will ship in 3 business days (down from my 4-5 weeks).
I understand that Lenovo apparently was very popular, but seriously, this was just ridiculous. -
What were your specs? Wonder why yours isnt getting pushed through?
No Lenovo U330's will be shipping out next week
