No More Bluetooth??

Hey,

I just called Lenovo asking if I can add bluetooth to my w500 order I placed yesterday and at first he said no problem but it might delay my order acouple days. Then I was put on hold so he can call someone to add it on. When he got back he said they no longer do the bluetooth option on any of there models and other companies are stopping bluetooth as well.. Any one know anything about this?? Or did he totally bull**** me for no reason??

 

gateway new model does not have BT either

 

Strange since it's a configurable option on W500, T500, and T400.

I'd try a different rep, something doesn't make sense with what he said.

 

I agree.. Since it is an option and I said that to him 2.. And hes like they dont do it.. ill call again in alil bit thanks..

 

You got a bad rep. There is nothing about that that makes since. With the amount of people that use bluetooth to teather to cell phones that would really tick off a bunch of users, not to mention bluetooth headsets, mice, and printers.

I just called another rep and they said there is currently a constiction on bluetooth, but he did change my order to include bluetooth. He said it shouldnt change the ship date. I dont know the deal with this constriction that 3 reps were talking about. But as long as I get it ontime its all cool. If anyone knows please share, because im curious

 

Did it change your shipping date? How does lenovo even build the laptops? You can add stuff sometimes and not change the date? Is it an assembly line thing or each person builds an order themselves?

 

I know there has been a shortage of Bluetooth modules at Lenovo recently, they need to order more. From what I read a week or 2 ago they did not allow people to add it to their orders since they didn't have it. From what the rep told you , maybe the shortage still exists.
