I've noticed this too. They had it around for the recent sale, then no more. Really blown because I was about to order one (SL300) and now they've disappeared...anyone have any insight??

Probably ran out for the moment with the good sale they had.

The SL400 disappeared first. My theory was that they had one too many 14.1" models and the R400 and T400 were better sellers. But the SL300 was the only 13.3" ThinkPad this side of the X301, which has a $2k+ price tag. It was reviewed favorably by most relevant websites and magazines, too.

Maybe they're just being updated- either with the new nVIDIA (G 105M, G110M, etc.) or ATI (HD 4000-series) graphics?

The Lenovo Outlet has quite a few NEW SL300s- LINK.

I always thought that the SL300 was a nice machine because of its size and the LED backlit screen. The SL400 and SL500 are rather forgettable.

I noticed it as well, since I was also considering a SL300 - wonder if it is connected to the general shortage of LED backlit screens? I suspect Lenovo are just trying to limit the amount of excess parts inventory they are carrying at their March year end - I would not be surprised if we see the range expand back to its original level after the end of March.

The SL-series and IdeaPad Y430/Y530 and U330 seem to be aimed at the same market niche. ThinkPad purists don't consider the SL-series "real" ThinkPads because of the glossy lids, multimedia features, available glossy VibrantView displays and build quality.

The SL300 has been the exception, but the SL400 and SL500 are forgettable...I'd buy an R400 or R500 instead. But the SL300 with the LED-backlit 300-nit display is a great value for the price and it's one of the relatively few 13.3" ultraportables to offer a discrete GPU option!

If the SL-series is phased out completely, they should bring back the SL300 (sans glossy lid) as the R300 or T300! :D

It's a good time to phase it out.

    That last deal was awesome.

This could mean that a new powerful "netbook" will be out soon.

    Or.....

It means they sold out. :D
