I have Lenovo Think pad T61p. For some reason the sound has completely stopped working. All the diagnostics say there are no probems. Has anyone had this problem before and know a fix to it. I am running windows XP pro. thanks Mikee

Make sure to press an hold the volume up button next to the blue ThinkVantage button. It's pretty common for people to accidentally press the Mute button next to the ESC key.

    Hi Halobox,
I am feeling pretty stupid right now. I have worked on this problem for a week and with little success. Your solution worked ....Thank you so much.

Don't feel bad. It's a common mistake. I actually consider it to be an engineering bug or poor design. If you only knew how many times the same thing has happened you wouldn't feel bad.

    YOU ARE NOT ALONE. :D
