    Hi,
I'm looking into getting the x61, everything is perfect and exactly what i want in an ultra-portable except... the lack of widescreen. My laptop now is a widescreen and i'm use to it. Does the lack of widescreen on x61 kill the deal?

anynews on new x61 with widescreen?

    thanks

In my opinion, a widescreen tablet would be pretty awkward to hold..

If you really want/need a widescreen, then the X61 isn't for you. Another thing to consider would be this: the resolution is 1024x768, or XGA. That may be a little low for some people, but may be just right for others. If you work with multiple windows open, then I'd suggest another ultraportable.

The closest thing to an X61 in widescreen (from Lenovo) would be the X300, which costs significantly more.

all ultraportables pretty much have 1024x768 resolution. This crappy resolution is not worth the shave 2lbs imo. IF If you're a studen who moves it like 8 times a day, then I think it's worth it.

One of the good things about a standard screen is it's taller, making text easier to read. I don't understand what a extra 200 pixels on the side does for you. It's not like you can view two documents comfortably on WXGA. Most formatted web pages are set 1024x768. You'd be getting more white space on the sides. Scrolling on the pointstick is effortless.
