I re-set my T61 to manufacturer's content a couple of weeks ago and found the blue Thinkvantage button didn't pop up the on-screen menu, nor could I access the center through start-menu. Then called Rep. and was told to uninstall the thinkvantage and install the latest version downloaded from IBM's website. Still, the blue button doesn't work but I can launch it through the shortcut on desktop.

After launching the menu, I found the items listed changed. The Rescue and Recovery has been replaced by Security, Protection and Recovery and I can't find the backup function thru the menu.

You can click on the picture to enlarge it.

IBM rep. couldn't figure out how to fix it.

Then, what should I do to get back my backup function thru Thinkvantage?

    Thanks a lot!

I have had a number of problems with Think Vantage recovery in the past.....for multiple reasons.

Purchase a copy of Acronis True Image Home 11 and don't look back. Takes 12 minutes to re-image your hard drive with a recent (versus original factory) o/s.
