At least for now, the WXGA+ LED is no longer even an option when configuring a T400 CTO. I wonder if that means a four week delay was only wishful thinking on their part.

a few weeks ago, they had a high nit option with the LED, that went away in a couple of days.

it's a good thing i ordered mine last week... it's supposed to be shipped Mar 9... *knock on wood*

Wow im surprised that they have shortages like that..........
-
yeah, same. I didn't get the LED just cause I didn't want to wait that long
-
they cut down production thanks to the recession

Mar9? lucky. Mine isn't shipping until Mar20th, if they really ship by then. I ordered at the end of February during a 48hour sale in the CPP store. I really hope my order actually got an LED screen and isn't one of those lame "we might have enough in stock" delays...
last time I ordered a Thinkpad (X61), it was delayed past the estimated ship date another 30 days, so I canceled and ordered from a reseller who had stock... I don't want to have to do that again. -
Aloha:
I was told by Lenovo that I would be unable to initiate a price match as the equipment (WXGA+ BLLED) is no longer available. Ordered a T400-2764CTO on 2/10, with est ship date 2/20. Shipping is delayed until 3/24, 3/9, or 3/12 (three different resources at Lenovo, three different answers). So with the delay I have been keeping an eye on prices, as I want a price match if available, for compensation for the delay. SOL, screen no longer offered, no means to configure identical machine for quote and submission to sales for price match.
Thanks Lenovo! -
ya, i ordered on Feb 23... as long as I get my lappy by the end of Mar I'm happy. I need it for when I go travelling for 6 weeks from Apr to May.
but obviously, sooner the better! -

Is it worth waiting around for them to repost the LED option? I was going to buy one, but I do not know if I want to wait. Also, I have read the previous post about the quality issue of the LED screen, should I just go with the CCFL or is that image quality not that great either? Please help.

At this point I'd say that if battery life is not top priority, you may be just as well off to go with CCFL. Had I decided on the T400 instead of the T500, I wasn't going to wait for the LED. In the end I decided I was better off with a larger, higher resolution display with more capable graphics though, so it was a moot point.
No more LED option on the T400
