I have done a clean install/upgrade to Vista Ultimate, and now I have no sound via the speakers or headphone jack. I loaded the audio driver, and under the control panel, the sound section says the driver is "working."
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Mark

This may be a dumb thing to ask, but I might as well.
Have you made sure to unmute? -
Not dumb at all. Once I thought my old Compaq's touchpad was bad for a whole day before I realized it was turned off. No, the speakers are unmuted. BTW, the volume and mute keys on the keyboard do not work either (I made sure mute was off and volume turned up through the sound mixer), so I'm assuming I need to download another driver for them too. Any idea what that might be called?
Thanks,

You need the hotkey driver for those.
Did you also make sure to install UAA? -
What's UAA?

Nevermind, I'm not sure if UAA is needed for Vista or not.
Is this the guide that you followed?

Yes, that's the guide I used, but only partially. Since I was upgrading with a new Ultimate disc, I did not have to do the auto-activiation stuff with the registration key. My audio has begun working, as have my hotkeys. I'm still not getting the on-screen display of the volume level though.

Did you install the System Interface driver?
