    Hello,

I have a IBM Thinkpad R32, which I re-formatted with Windows XP Home, the same operating system as before.

Since the re-format, I have no control anymore on the Audio (Sound) via the keyboard. The mute button on the keyboard, is the only sound control still working.

All sound drivers have been re-installed by downloaded IBM ones, with no improvement.

Is there any help out there?

    Thanks and regards,

    Biggles71[ :(]

sounds like a firmware problem. try searching the IBM site for any firmware updates for the R32, did you get a restore disk with the R32? That would have been the better way to go for formatting your hard drive to start anew, IBM likely will not support your problem if you didn't use a manufacturer supplied restore disk.

Have you tried installing these drivers
    http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-38953

    and
    http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-44185

    It should work then.
