For some reason, I have no sound on my X30, I downloaded the drivers from the IBM website and installed them, no sound. I think it may be the sound card, but not sure. Any one have a similar problem??? Also, one other thing, during one restart, it 'DID' "beep", but I still did not get any sound.

    Any help would be great.

Make sure your volume isn't muted or set to very low. The volume keys are seperate from Windows' volume control.

How's Copperas Cove? Ever been to the Weinerschntizel there? Some relatives of mine ran it...=)

Unfortunately, I don't have a solution for you. The same thing happened to me, and one the worst of nights. I've never had a problem with X30 sound whatsoever. But I was using it during this show I was hosting to present a video during one bit...and BAM, no sound! Really mindblowing.

Look for some SoundMax sound drivers maybe...I forget what I did to fix it. To be honest, I don't think I did anythign at all, which is what is so surprising. I am sure I'd have remembered with how frustrating the problem was, but it seemed like a restart really did it.

    Try PC Doctor's sound utilities.

Well, I have been very busy with work to check out the forum  , I did fix the problem, did a simple "System Restore", so it was a software issue, but don't know what the problem was, since the volume control is still missing on window, I am using the keyboard and notebook controls.

    Thanks for the help. :)

Sp00n, yes, of course I checked the volume, I used the actual volume keys on the notebook, (below the screen) and on the key board, since the volume control was (and still is) not available in Windows. :p

BlueDevilTide, I don't know where the Weinerschntizel, since I mainly go to Fort Hood and back home regularly, (US 190). Have you considered upgrading your HD?? I recently upgrade mine to a 100GB (5400 rpm) that I took from a one year old DELL 700 and the difference is GREAT!!! :D

    I appreciate the time, thanks.
